Ellys Manor House Spring Music Festival

 

EMH SMFThe Ellys Manor House Spring Music Festival (EMH SMF) will be at All Saints Church Nocton Lincolnshire. All Saints Nocton is a Sir George Gilbert Scott Masterpiece, which will see its 150th anniversary in 2012.

Nocton Old Hall was once the home of: Sir William Ellys, Bart, and his son Sir Richard Ellys, Bart, Sir Richard, collector of the Ellys’ library at Blickling Hall, said to be “one of the most remarkable country-house libraries in England and the finest in the care of the National Trust” (later branch of the Ellys family).

 

All of the above will have done their bit. Now it is time for us to do our bit. The EMH SMF will be a concert not to be missed!

The house with iconic stepped gables reminiscent of Flanders is an architectural gem.

Late Medieval Wall Paintings at Ellys Manor House
The main feature however is a scheme of early 16th century wall paintings said to be the most complete, extensive and important domestic decoration of this date in the country.

Spring Music Festival
Open from Easter until 31st October daily from 10am to 5pm, Closed on Tuesdays. Last admission to house at 4.30pm.
As EMH is a private home, the house may, on occasions, have to close without prior notice due to other commitments.
